My 2022 New Book: Almost Dusk(無限好), By Cosmos Books

I find writing very relaxing. Every time when paper and pen are in front of me, I want to run away and take a break.

The goal of writing is no longer to be passionate. The crisis has become that I write so much after a day in my life of lawyer and I will not know what to do if I do not write. A suspended sentence is where God orders me to the jail of doing nothing, but delays imposing the sentence in order to push me to prove my writing skills as my surviving value. How young can I stand the tired dusk?

Doing nothing is perhaps seducingly the most difficult but redeeming form of joy for me. Foolish people are idle. Wise men are diligent. I am diligently foolish.

Life is amazing. The destiny right under my nose is not to look back, and simply let the 2 men inside me crawl, one being a literary villain who rebels and the other being a legal gentleman who complies. Maybe both men are nuts. The sky changes from blue to red before dusk falling into darkness. Nature has a split personality of its own too. My destiny is not a matter of chance. It is a matter of not giving up when choice comes.

Government declared that it would soon transform Hong Kong into an international cultural centre. Promises are very much like opinions. They often turn us into restless waters without a stream. As a humble writer, I can only make sure that I maintain my professionalism meanwhile—releasing a new book per year.

There are no words that can express my debt of gratitude to Cosmos Books(天地圖書), one of the great publishers in Hong Kong which was set up in 1976, and the key person Terri. They have been enduring me since 1996. It was said that ‘reading is like installing a new operating system inside your brain’. My new book ‘Almost Dusk’ is only HK$98 and your purchase at any nearby bookstore is an act of support to the local culture of Hong Kong. Every little helps.
