林旭華是香港電視傳媒的元老，我和他相識數十年，他為人行俠仗義，光明磊落。在1972年，林旭華在浸會學院傳理系唸書的時候，已經在「無綫電視」(TVB)兼職，負責常識問答節目撰稿，每條題目港幣十元。Peter(林的英文名字)在1975年，入了政府的香港電台(RTHK)《獅子山下》做幕後；不過，TVB的林賜祥和綜藝節目《歡樂今宵》的編導石少鳴賞識Peter，說服他跳槽去無綫電視，當時加入TVB製作部 「Research Unit」，TVB高層劉天賜建議翻譯做「資料搜集組」。林旭華記得：「我在香港電台的人工是1,400元，去到TVB，是2,500元！」當年TVB在九龍塘廣播道，廣播道盛極一時，叫做「五台山」，包括「無線電視」、「麗的電視」、「香港電台」、「商業電台」及「佳藝電視」；後來佳藝電視結束，仍然叫「五台山」，因為香港政府的「教育電視」，還在那裏。不過，今天「五台山」已經消失…..
